Adagia Rooms

A short distance from the auditorium of this ethereal theatre can be found the Adagia Rooms, or at least they can be found by enlightened local citizens of sufficient means.

Are you an enlightened Adelaidean?

The Adagia Rooms are where the Friends of Adelaide Adagia frequently meet during the intervals within and between presentations and performances.

The Friends are the main upholders of journalistic excellence in this part of the world.  They know the value of quality Adelaide journalism and they are willing to pay for its production and distribution.

Erasmus is often to be found in one of the Adagia Rooms, updating his notebooks.  He continues to take a keen interest in suitably informed social criticism in his usual, via media style.

Have you ever been in an Adagia Room elsewhere?

Like Mozart, Erasmus has been portrayed in various artistic ways.

Are you a supporter of the Mozarty Party and/or the Moderate Australia Party, or a lesser sort of political organisation?

Most people are unaware of the many differences between quality journalism and the various, lesser forms, just as they are unaware of differences between competent political representatives and incompetent ones.

Such ignorance is one of the most obvious signs of the lack of enlightenment in the world, and particularly in Australia.

Much of the media in Australia, both within and outside the context of journalism, displays a tendency towards unwarranted aggression.  For example, the vocabulary of much Australian journalism is hideously violent.

Quality journalism consistently rises above such unpleasantness.

The Adagia Rooms are primarily for Adelaidean patrons, though other South Australians may also apply for admittance, subject to relevance.  Such patrons are not necessarily amongst the Friends of Adelaide Adagia though the most enlightened amongst them tend to be.

The management of information and the sharing of knowledge should never be left to untrained amateurs.  Yet highly trained amateurs are another matter entirely.

Many members of the Friends of Adelaide Adagia have been highly trained in the assessment and management of vast quantities of information.  They have participated in the collation and correction of data on many occasions.  They obviously have the public interest uppermost in their minds at all times.

Quite a few of the Friends of Adelaide Adagia are also members of the Adelaide Adagia News Ensemble.

If you intend to apply for membership of the ensemble, can you afford the training fees, and the time?

As in any worthy ensemble, absolute dedication is required, as is success in the initial auditions.

The minimum registration fee for the first stage of the assessment process is $15,000, paid in advance.

Admittance to the Friends is not so easy to obtain.  For digital attendance in the Adagia Rooms, on between ten and twelve occasions per year, the required payment depends on the total number of confirmed attendees.

The maximum number of attendees is 5,000.  The minimum cost for twelve occasions is $5,000,000 in total.

Prospective attendees must organise the full payment between themselves before the end of the previous year.
